45,000 runners

anniversary

We look forward to your participation in the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON 2024!

An anniversary like this does not happen every year: On September 29, 2024, the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON will celebrate its 50th anniversary. Be there and run one of the most prestigious marathons in the world together with the Stiftung KinderHerz.

With more than 45,000 participants each year, the race in Berlin is one of the biggest ever—along with similar events in New York, Boston and London. People travel to the German capital from all over Europe, and indeed the world, to compete and stay fit together.

Once you have secured one of the coveted starting places, a unique route awaits you: from Berlin's Tiergarten through Alt-Moabit to the Federal Chancellery and the Reichstag. But there is not much time for sightseeing, because of course it goes further, to Neukölln, Schöneberg, Kreuzberg and Steglitz. The last few kilometers take you along the illustrious Kurfürstendamm and the Potsdamer Platz all the way to the Brandenburg Gate. At the end you can celebrate your success in the Tiergarten.

Your best run ever for our little patients!

Create a donation campaign

As soon as our donation tool is live, you can start a campaign. If it reaches the set donation target of 760 euros, you will receive a starting place for the marathon from our project manager Bernd Gröne. He will of course also be happy to help you with any questions you may have.

Get-together

We look forward to meeting you in person on the day of the run at the latest. We also offer an additional voluntary program for the run, including the opportunity to visit a children's heart clinic in Berlin to see the results of our commitment for yourself.

Celebrate your success

Of course, our team will be at the course in Berlin to cheer you on at our cheering point. After the finish in the Tiergarten you will receive your medal and will be celebrated with all the other KinderHerz runners. You have achieved an amazing goal and helped the children at the same time.

One Team, One Goal

Nearly 100 KinderHerz runners were active at the Berlin Half Marathon 2023 and campaigned for our children. This film reflects everything our KinderHerz runners stand for: a great community of committed people who achieve great things as a team.

We run together for an important research project:

Improved monitoring and treatment of heart transplanted children

A small heart that does not beat properly. To save this child's life, there is only one solution: a heart transplant. The wait for a donor heart is often grueling, so the relief is all the greater when the transplant can take place. But afterwards, there is often still no daily routine. The transplanted child must be intensively monitored. We take care of this with a project in Berlin. And this is only one of many projects that will be supported with your donations.

This is how it works in detail

42,195 kilometers through the heart of Berlin: The BMW BERLIN-MARATHON is an event of SCC EVENTS GmbH. A limited number of starting places are available to the Stiftung KinderHerz, which are distributed via charity fundraising campaigns.

Requirements:

You start a fundraising campaign and thus collect at least 760 euros in donations until August 20, 2024. Afterwards, you will receive a charity starting place from the KinderHerz Foundation, provided that not all places have been assigned yet. In addition, you will receive a "KinderHerz runner" shirt from us. With this you are ready to start and you will receive a registration code from us to run as a KinderHerz runner through the finish line.

You collect the minimum donation amount of 760 Euros together with your family, friends and relatives. To do this, simply create a fundraising campaign on our website. You enter your data, upload a picture and write a motivational text. And off you go ...

With your successful participation in our fundraising campaign for the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON 2024, you support research projects in the field of pediatric cardiology. For example we currently finance a project for improved monitoring and treatment of children with heart transplants at the German Heart Center of the Charité (DHCZ) in Berlin.

By reaching the donation amount in time, you have successfully mastered the first goal: You will be competing for us in the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON 2024, provided that not all places have been assigned yet. We look forward to meeting you in person on site.

Every donor who supports your running campaign will receive a tax-deductible donation receipt for donations of 20 euros or more. For this we need a postal address. We are happy if you also contribute to your campaign. Unfortunately, we are not allowed to provide a donation receipt to you personally. For legal reasons, your participation in the run is considered as a return for your donation.

Your fundraising campaign usually has a runtime of 60 days. After expiration, your fundraising campaign is marked as "beendet" ("finished") and the donation function is deactivated. However, you can extend the duration at any time. To do so, please use the secret edit link you received by email after you created your campaign.

Unfortunately, you will then not be able to start for the Stiftung KinderHerz. However, our little patients thank you for your commitment, because every donation helps!

Please note: Donations collected through your fundraising campaign cannot be refunded. This applies if the donation goal was not reached or if no more starting place are available, which could happen in very rare cases.
